COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS

Our Community Development Projects

WHY COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS?

Because we know that the community we serve in and the nearby communities need to also partake of the impact we are causing in the area and that gives us one more reason to think about the poverty stricken local person living in these areas through different community development projects and programs we are running to ensure that they're not left out and their voices are heard as well.

WHAT WE DO

KITONZI COMMUNITY SCHOOL

Education is a priority,  it is one of the most important tools OAP UGANDA can give the children in order to break the cycle of poverty affecting their lives and to help them become independent adults. We build schools with villages that have historically had no adequate school structure – where students are squeezed into dark and crumbling mud huts, or are taught under trees when the weather permits, or have to walk multiple miles to a neighboring village, or can’t attend school at all.

For this case, we have built and opened a school that is imparting these children with basic education to broaden and ground their minds in the academic world. We started with a nursery/kindergarten section for children between 2-8 years and we will be constructing more classrooms this year to be utilized by Primary One to Primary Seven both from our children homes and the nearby communities , so that they can have a strong foundation in their world as a second chance in their lives. Stand with us to build a school

THE COMMUNITY WATER WELL

In much of Africa, water supplies are unclean, unsafe and unreliable. Water sources are often stagnant pools or brooks that are only available during the rainy season. This water is:

Unfit for human consumption
A fertile breeding ground for mosquitoes that cause malaria
Infested with waterborne diseases causing cholera, diarrhea and dysentery, as well as parasites such as guinea worm and tapeworm
Women and children routinely trek up to 10 miles to fetch water in buckets for drinking and cooking. They often have to queue up to receive water for their families.

We are striving to provide clean, safe, and reliable source of water supply for the communities of Kagadi District to eradicate diseases and improve health. We’re bringing relief to communities around the world who suffer needlessly from a lack of access to clean water and proper sanitation.

KITONZI CHILDREN'S HOMES

A children’s home is designed to create a true family for these abandoned children. The “Home-Mother” have been trained to develop an atmosphere of love, support and accountability for 15 to 20 children each. Each family will be living in a private home, sets goals specific to their family, manages a family budget, and anything else you would assume of a typical stable African family…even homework around the kitchen table while mom cooks the evening meal.

Be part of such a tremendous impact by getting involved in many volunteer opportunities as well as supporting our center with the necessary technical equipments to help us train as many as we can reach.
