Education is a priority, it is one of the most important tools OAP UGANDA can give the children in order to break the cycle of poverty affecting their lives and to help them become independent adults. We build schools with villages that have historically had no adequate school structure – where students are squeezed into dark and crumbling mud huts, or are taught under trees when the weather permits, or have to walk multiple miles to a neighboring village, or can’t attend school at all.
For this case, we have built and opened a school that is imparting these children with basic education to broaden and ground their minds in the academic world. We started with a nursery/kindergarten section for children between 2-8 years and we will be constructing more classrooms this year to be utilized by Primary One to Primary Seven both from our children homes and the nearby communities at large, so that they can have a strong foundation in their world as a second chance in their lives. Stand with us to build a school
In much of Africa, water supplies are unclean, unsafe and unreliable. Water sources are often stagnant pools or brooks that are only available during the rainy season. This water is:
Unfit for human consumption
A fertile breeding ground for mosquitoes that cause malaria
Infested with waterborne diseases causing cholera, diarrhea and dysentery, as well as parasites such as guinea worm and tapeworm
Women and children routinely trek up to 10 miles to fetch water in buckets for drinking and cooking. They often have to queue up to receive water for their families.
We are striving to provide clean, safe, and reliable source of water supply for the communities of Kagadi District to eradicate diseases and improve health. We’re bringing relief to communities around the world who
suffer needlessly from a lack of access to clean water and proper sanitation.
Raising pigs in our community has become one of the various income generating activities that are likely to never let a child sleep on an empty berry just because of lack of the organization sustainability funds. In every 4 months we sell a pig and it generates around $150 to $200 on a one time sale.
We hope to start a diary farm as well and we believe it will be yet another journey of catering for the village day to day needs.
Let’s get together and be the change. For change starts with you!
A children’s home is designed to create a true family for these abandoned children. The “Home-Mother” have been trained to develop an atmosphere of love, support and accountability for 15 to 20 children each. Each family will be living in a private home, sets goals specific to their family, manages a family budget, and anything else you would assume of a typical stable African family…even homework around the kitchen table while mom cooks the evening meal.

Technical skills are one of the top-notch income earners in most of the families around the globe and training children, the youths, adults and widows some of these skills will help them help themselves in the near future once they leave our skills center at the children’s village.
Be part of such a tremendous impact by getting involved in many volunteer opportunities as well as supporting our center with the necessary technical equipments to help us train as many as we can reach.
